The written exam conducted by Syntel for selection is of moderate difficulty. The exam has around 90 questions from Verbal, Analytical Ability and Quantitative Ability sections with a time allotment of 60 minutes in total. In the Verbal section(around 30 questions), the students will have to solve reading comprehensions and questions based on basic grammar usage like fill in the blanks, synonyms, antonyms, paragraph completion, sentence completion, vocabulary. Vocabulary may be tested as well. The Analytical Ability section(around 30 questions) will test the candidate on data interpretation and logical reasoning skills. The questions will also be based on puzzles, graphs, charts, and tables. The topics usually tested in the Quantitative section Ability (around 30 questions) are algebra, time & work, time, speed & distance, arithmetic, percentages, profit & loss, geometry. There is no negative marking in the paper.
