The written exam conducted by Newgen for selection is moderate to difficult. The exam has around 65 questions from Verbal & Aptitude Ability, Quantitative Abilityand Technical sections with a time allotment of 60 minutes in total. The Verbal & Aptitude section (around 30 questions) features short RCs and questions on basic grammar usage questions like fill in the blanks, synonyms, antonyms, paragraph completion, sentence correction, vocabulary, sentence ordering etc. Aptitude includes solving puzzles, blood relations, statements & arguments, coding decoding, data sufficiency, pattern recognition, deductive logic, statement-assumption etc. Quantitative Ability (around 10 questions) section consists of questions from the topics like algebra, time & work, time, speed & distance, arithmetic, percentages, probability, permutation & combination, profit & loss, HCF, LCM, geometry, etc. The Technical section (around 25 questions) consists of questions from areas like C, C++, JAVA, DBMS and OS. There is no negative marking in the paper. There also is a psychometric test which is referred to during the interview but is not marked as such.
