The written exam conducted by John Deere for selection is moderate to difficult.The exam has around 50 questions from Aptitude and Technical sections with a total time allotment of 50 minutes in total. Aptitude section (around 20 questions) consists of questions based on data interpretation, graphs, blood relations and statement reasoning. Topics from basic mathematics like time, speed & distance, algebra, arithmetic, probability, geometry, permutation & combination can also be asked. Questions on English based on grammar usage and fill in the blanks were also seen. Technical section (around 30 questions) consists of questions from strength of materials, heat and mass transfer, engineering mechanics and thermodynamics and gear design. The pattern of negative marking is quite different from other exams. In aptitude section, 0.25 is deducted for every unanswered question and in case of technical section, 0.25 is deducted for every wrong and unanswered question.
