It is the largest bank in the United States and in terms of total assets, it is the sixth largest bank in the world with the total assets of US $2.35 trillion. Also, it is the most valuable bank in the world in terms of market capitalization. In 2000, Chase Manhattan Corporation merged with JP Morgan & Co.

It is considered to be one of the Big Four Banks of the United States after Bank of America, Wells Fargo and Citigroup.
