Cisco Reasoning Questions

DIRECTIONS for the questions 1 to 4 : Read the following in formation carefully and answer the questions given below it:
One morning editor Rita Storey tackled the pile of manuscripts on her desk. She read five stories, each by different author. The authors were Abner, Blake and Ellery (all males) and Celeste and Doris (both females). Each of the stories was about a different threat to civilisation (one was about a vengeful mad scientist). One of the authors had the surname James. There are eight clues:
  1. Rita read the five stories in this order from first to last: the story by the author surnamed Gardon, the one set on the moon, the one by Doris, Land's Lost, and the story about an impending ice age.
  2. Ellery's story and Nightmares both take place on Earth. Of the two Rita read the one that takes place under the sea some time before she read the one set in the mountains.
  3. Ms Frederick isn't the woman who wrote about nuclear explosions.
  4. As Rita set down Mr Irving's manuscript and picked up October Oppression she realised that she knew both authors personally, and that they were soon to be married to each other.
  5. Henderson's story and the story about killer plants take place, not necessarily respectively, on Mars and Venus; Rita didn't read these two stories consecutively.
  6. Blake didn't write Mushroom Madness.
  7. Before reading their stories, Rita had never heard of the authors of either the story set on Mars or the one about hostile aliens.
  8. After finishing Celeste's story, Rita read at least one other story before getting to Killer Time.
