Motorola Inc., founded on September 25, 1928 by Joseph and Paul Galvin, was world-renowned American multinational telecommunications company. Motorola established the mobile communications industry. It was the designer and seller of wireless network equipment such as cellular transmission base stations and signal amplifiers. Its products include digital video recorders, computer telephony, set-top boxes, network equipment that is necessary to allow video broadcasting and high-definition television. It provided wireless voice and broadband systems, public communications systems to business and government customers. On January 4, 2011 Motorola became defunct and was divided into two independent public companies — Motorola Mobility and Motorola Solutions.
