TCS NQT Eligibility Criteria and Recruitment Process

TCS National Qualifier Test (NQT) is open to all graduates and postgraduates from various fields. This pan India online test is one of the most awaited tests in the country. With TCS Ninja and TCS Digital open to all colleges, the number of registrations is set to rise. This year, TCS NQT is set to be conducted on 24, 25, and 26 October 2020.
TCS National Qualifier Test (NQT) is conducted by TCS iON, which is an assessment company and official subsidiary of TCS. For TCS 2021 hiring, it is important for the candidates to appear for this employability test and obtain a TCS score. TCS score is valid for 2 years and can utilise the score when applying for entry-level jobs across companies and industries. A candidate can appear for TCS NQT any number of times. 2021 pass-outs will have an advantage, as they will be eligible for TCS Campus Hiring YoP Program and get a job in TCS.
Eligibility Criteria for TCS NQT
Degrees
BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech/M.Sc/MCA 2021 pass-outs
Percentage
An applicant must have minimum 60% or 6 CGPA throughout academics and an aggregate of 60% or 6.00 CGPA in the highest qualification until the semester for which results have been declared.
Backlogs / Arrears / Atkt
The applicant must not have more than 1 active backlog/arrear/ATKT while appearing for the TCS Selection process.
If selected, the student while joining TCS must have cleared all pending backlogs/arrears/ATKT within the course duration as stipulated by the University failing which joining will not be permitted.
GAP / Break in Education
It is mandatory to declare academic gaps. Overall break should not exceed 24 months. Any exceptions are permissible only for valid reasons subject to satisfactory check of relevant document(s) at the time of test/interview/on boarding
Age
An applicant should be between 18 to 28 years of age to participate in the TCS Campus Hiring process.
Course Types
Only full-time courses will be considered (part-time / correspondence courses will not be considered).
Applicants with Secondary and / or Senior Secondary course from NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) are eligible to apply, if the other courses are full time.
Extended Education
Applicants with extended education in the highest qualification are not eligible. Any exceptions are permissible only for valid reasons subject to satisfactory check of relevant document(s) at the time of test/interview/on boarding.
TCS NQT: Recruitment Process
The TCS NQT 2021 Recruitment Process will have following rounds:
  • Online Test –National Qualifier Test (NQT)
The online test –TCS NQT is 180 minutes test consisting of 92 questions. The exam tests your Verbal, Reasoning, Numerical, Programming Logic and Coding skills. Based on the scores of the online round, candidates are further called for interview rounds. Below mentioned is the updated exam pattern of TCS NQT.

  • Technical Interview
This interview revolves around your profile, stream/specializations and academic subjects. You are expected to have a good grasp on the fundamentals of your subjects. The interview panel also may give you a question to solve or a code to write. Additionally, you are required to know about the applications of your technical subjects.
  • Managerial/HR Interview
In this round, candidate is questioned about their past education, achievements, work experience, willingness to relocate and cross questions based on your resume. A few questions asked might stress you or be a pressure, which is to assess your behaviour and reactions while answering the questions. Further in this round, interviewer determines your strengths, weaknesses, hobbies, career plans etc. The interviewing panel can even ask you situation based questions to test your problem solving skills.
Candidates who will qualify the above rounds will be selected for TCS Ninja and TCS Digital profiles. However, top performers of TCS Ninja are also offered Digital roles. It is recommended that a candidate must prepare well for each of the rounds to get the job in the best profile.

Following are the step-by-step guidelines for NQT registration:
  • Visit the official TCS Careers page: tcs.com/careers/TCSCampusHiringYoP2021
  • Now click on ‘Register Now’. You will be directed to learning.tcsionhub.in/hub/national-qualifier-test/.
  • Select “Subject Test” option in the TCS NQT registration form which includes "Programming Test" to ensure your candidature is considered for TCS Campus Hiring YoP 2021.
  • Navigate to TCS Next Step Portal
  • Fill the required details in the application form.
  • After submission, you will receive your CT/DT Reference ID.
  • Please click on Login and proceed to fill/submit the application form. Upon submission you would be prompted to the “Apply For Drive” screen.
  • Update your NQT Registration Number and click on Apply.
  • To confirm your application status for TCS Campus Hiring - Navigate to the ‘Track Your Application’ tab on the Next Step Portal, the status displayed should be “Applied for drive”
Important:
  • If you are a 2021 YOP (BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech/M.Sc/MCA) and if you have submitted the application form, click on “Apply for drive”, update your NQT registration number in the Text box provided and click on “Apply”.
  • If your status is registered please:
  • Fill/submit the application form and click on “Apply for drive”
  • Update your NQT registration number in the Text box provided
  • Click on “Apply”.
  • To confirm your application status for TCS Campus Hiring - Navigate to the ‘Track Your Application’ tab on the Next Step Portal, the status displayed should be “Applied for drive”
Note: Only the eligible candidates who have applied before the deadline will receive their hall tickets. Candidates cannot appear in NQT without their hall tickets.
