Schlumberger Selection Process
Schlumberger conducts hiring for graduate freshers, experienced workers and former military personnel. Recruitment is carried out for roles in four different departments: operations, geoscience & petrotechnical, business & management, and technology development. The firm selects candidates on the basis of their skills and talents. Firstly, the candidates are shortlisted based on their resume or profile. This is followed by interviews, written tests, group exercises, and presentation.

Eligibility Criteria
  • Graduate in B.Tech/B.E. (CSE/ECE /EEE /Mechanical/Chemical/Civil/Production) or similar streams.
  • Minimum 7 CGPA in graduation.
Interview
In the first round, shortlisted candidates are called for a general interview. Questions are asked regarding candidate’s personality traits, competence, adaptability and skills for the desired role. This interview is mostly conducted at the campus itself or on phone, in case of direct application. After qualifying this round, candidates are called for other rounds at one of the company’s facilities.
Written Test
Written assessments are technical or reasoning tests, depending upon the role. Engineering graduates are mainly required to clear a technical aptitude and mechanical reasoning tests. On the other hand, management graduates need to pass a numerical/verbal/abstract reasoning test. These tests evaluate the analytical and problem-solving skills of the candidate.
Group Exercise
This involves a group activity or discussion. Candidates are divided into small groups and asked to come up with a solution for a particular issue. Also, they may be asked to build a structure using the given raw materials. The purpose of this stage is to assess the team skills of candidates.
Presentation
A day before the presentation, candidates are assigned a specific topic or asked to prepare their own. Presentation time is 30 minutes for experienced candidates and 5 minutes for graduate freshers. Experienced candidates are expected to give presentation on a technical topic or the one related to their field.
